Why motorhomes rot

A big underbody is a big target for salt

Motorhomes corrode in ways a small car never does. Here's what's actually working against the metal — and why catching it early matters so much. See exactly what we do →

Long chassis rails trap salt

Motorhomes have big box sections and long chassis members that collect road salt, grit and damp — and hold it against bare metal for months.

They sit unused for half the year

A van laid up between trips stays damp underneath. Standing water plus salt is exactly how surface rust turns into structural rot.

Chassis repair is brutally expensive

Welding a corroded motorhome chassis can run into thousands — and a garage undersealing job can tie your van up for days.

Most garages can't take the size

Long-wheelbase coachbuilts don't fit a normal ramp. We bring the workshop to your driveway and treat the underside end to end.

What's included

Deep protection, inside and out

A motorhome treatment isn't a quick spray-and-go. We treat the surfaces you can see and inject wax into the hidden cavities where rot actually starts — then film the result so you can see exactly what was done.

  • Mechanical rust removal back to sound metal
  • Cavity wax injected inside sills, arches, inner chassis rails & box sections
  • Whole underside sealed with lab-proven Bilt Hamber Dynax UB
  • Before & after video of your own motorhome on every job
  • We bring everything — wheel ramps, specialist spray & injection gear

Diagnose → treat → protect

Our 8-step process, built for big chassis

The same thorough method on every motorhome — cavity injection is the step that matters most.

  1. 01

    Getting your vehicle ready

We set up on your driveway — no garage drop-off, no waiting room.

  2. 02

    Remove all undertrays

Off come the covers so every hidden surface can be reached.

  3. 03

    Before video inspection

We film the underside as-found, so you see exactly where you started.

  4. 04

    Dry clean to remove debris

A thorough dry preparation — no trapped moisture under the seal.

  5. 05

    Rust de-scaling

Loose rust is mechanically removed back to sound metal.

  6. 06

    Cavity wax injection

The most important step — wax injected inside sills, arches and inner chassis where rust starts.

  7. 07

    Bilt Hamber Dynax UB coating

A tough, lab-proven underbody coating sealed over the whole underside.

  8. 08

    Final inspection & after video

We film the finished result so you can see the transformation.

Rust underseal — VW T6 / T5 / T28 camper — a large camper, treated exactly as we treat a motorhome.

Why our treatment is different

Bilt Hamber Dynax UB vs lanolin vs DIY

Why we cost a little more than the cheap sprays — and why it's worth it on a vehicle this big.ASTM-B117 salt-spray is an industry salt-spray test that measures how long a coating resists corrosion.

Our treatment (Bilt Hamber Dynax UB + cavity wax)

Tough underbody coating sealed over the whole underside, plus wax injected inside the hidden cavities. Proven in ASTM-B117 salt-spray chambers.

Lanolin-based sprays

Softer lanolin-based products that can wash and wear off sooner, so they need re-doing more often to keep working.

DIY in your own driveway

Hard to reach the inner chassis and box sections without the right injection gear — the very places where motorhome rot actually starts.

Good to know

Motorhome questions, answered

The practical things owners ask before they book.

Will my motorhome fit on my drive?
As long as your motorhome is parked on level concrete with room to work around it, we can treat it on your own driveway — no need to find a garage that takes a vehicle this size.
How long does it take?
Most motorhomes take roughly 2 to 5 hours depending on size and condition. Because we come to you, your day isn't lost to a garage drop-off.
My motorhome already has surface rust — can you still treat it?
Yes. We mechanically remove loose rust back to sound metal first, then inject wax into the cavities and seal the whole underside. We treat what's already there before we protect it.
How much does it cost for a motorhome?
A standard motorhome or large van starts at £499, with extra-large 3.5t tag-axle models from £550, plus a small travel fee (£50–£75) depending on distance from our hub. Not sure of your tier? Send a photo on WhatsApp and we'll confirm in minutes.
